Me-to-Me Transfer

Me-to-Me Transfer is an online banking feature that enables you to send and receive funds between your accounts at First Credit Union to your accounts at other Canadian Financial Institutions.

Conveniently, transfers can be set up as daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. You can transfer between your Canadian accounts or between your US accounts.

What You Should Know

  • If a scheduled or recurring transfer is to be processed on a certain day, set up the Me-to-Me Transfer at least 5 days before access to the funds is needed.
  • Business accounts are not eligible for Me-Me-Me Transfers
  • Accounts that require two signatures to operate cannot be linked.

Getting Started

  • You’ll need to complete a Direct Services External Account Link Authorization form (PDF) which is available through our online banking service. Simply click on “Transfers” from the side menu and select Link External Accounts.
  • Next, follow the instructions on the form to provide account information, a personalized voided cheque from your other bank or credit union and your authorization. You’ll need one form for each of the external accounts you’d like to link. Each and every person who is an authorized signer on your First account AND the external account must sign the form.
  • Mail, email, or drop off your signed authorization form and voided personalized cheque.
  • Once the linking process is complete, you’ll be able to use the Transfer feature of online banking to move money between your accounts. You’ll now see your external accounts in the “Transfer To” and “Transfer From” lists along with your other First accounts. It’s that simple.

Important Information

  • Your money will be deposited into your First Credit Union account on the date that you specify, however it will be held for five days to ensure your other Financial Institution authorizes the transfer.
  • You must ensure that your account at your other Financial Institution has enough funds in it on the date that you specify. If you do not have enough funds in your account at the other Financial Institution, you may overdraw your account and be charged a fee.
  • It can take up to 3 business days for your money to be deposited into your account at another Financial Institution.

Service Charges

  • A fee for transferring money from your First Credit Union account may apply depending on which account package you have. Please contact your branch for further details.
