First Credit Union (FCU) and Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (Vancity) jointly announce that First Credit Union members have voted in favour of the proposed merger between the two credit unions. The vote, held between November 12th and 18th, paves the way for the creation of a combined entity that will deliver enhanced member value, expanded services, and an even greater positive impact on communities. Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (Vancity) and First Credit Union (FCU) announced a significant milestone today in their proposed merger, having received regulatory consent from the BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA). This decision allows First Credit Union to proceed with the member vote later this fall, a vital step towards building a stronger, more resilient community banking model for its members.
